Located in the desert town of Indian Wells, about half an hour east of downtown Palm Springs, the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort and Spa is a luxurious, family-friendly resort offering beautiful views and a wealth of amenities.
Set against the backdrop of palm trees and iconic mountain views, Hyatt Regency Indian Wells recently completed a $21 million renovation, which included completion of their amazing pool area, HyTides Plunge.
The Hyatt Regency is our pick for the best Palm Springs water slide hotel!
Here’s why.
With seven resort pools and 2 whirlpools, HyTides water park features a 450-foot lazy river and dueling 30-foot water slides. The twisty slides are named The Rattler and The Sidewinder.
On my recent stay at the Hyatt, I spent a lot of time in the water and it was perfect. The lazy river is long and moves at a decent pace – not too fast and not too slow. There are plenty of free tubes available for everyone to enjoy.
There is also a splash pad and an additional smaller water slide for kids who don’t reach the 48-inch height requirement. Poolside food and drink service is available from the Oasis Pool Bar and Roadrunner Café. These are just some of the features that make it one of the best Palm Springs family resorts with water slides and a lazy river, too!
Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa has 530 rooms, including 35 suites and 43 villas. The tastefully decorated, spacious rooms each feature a private balcony and marble bath with separate shower and tub.
Located in Rancho Mirage, the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa sits on 360 acres just outside Palm Springs.
The newly redesigned resort features three outdoor pools. The largest pool, Las Brisas, is the most family-friendly pool and has dual water slides. There is a smaller pool which tends to be less crowded, and a separate adults-only pool.
We visited the resort on a recent weekend and I need to warn you – Las Brisas was crowded! A DJ was playing, the grill was cranking out burgers, and the pool was packed with families having fun. Plan to get there early if you visit during a busy time and hope to find lounge chairs together!
The adults-only Las Hadas pool provided a nice reprieve, though the vibrant atmosphere carried over, just without the kids!

In addition to the pools, this Palm Springs water slide hotel has seven outdoor tennis and pickleball courts and the full-service Spa at Rancho Mirage.

The grounds at this vacation rental resort are beautifully kept with streams, bridges, gardens, and of course the golf course that runs adjacent to the property.
Walking around this resort gives off more of an apartment complex vibe than a luxury resort, but they are designed after all to feel more like a vacation home than a hotel. Each villa comes equipped with a kitchen or kitchenette, washer and dryer, seating area and a patio or balcony.
