Planning a visit to Long Beach, California with kids? Find out why the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach Hotel is a great place to settle in for the weekend.
Family-Friendly Long Beach Hotel
With its elegant lobby, chic decor and comfortable rooms, the Renaissance Hotel Long Beach finds a balance between trendy and classic. Located in the heart of downtown, this Long Beach hotel is a great place to call home base when visiting Long Beach with kids.
Long Beach is located on the coast of Southern California, between the urban bustle of Los Angeles and the suburban expanses of Orange County. We live nearby and have visited Long Beach many times.
There are many fun things to do in this city. In addition, Universal Studios is just 30 minutes to the north, and Disneyland is 30 minutes to the east. There are numerous beaches within a short drive of Long Beach, so you can enjoy Southern California’s year-round sunshine and fun beach activities.
My family and I stayed at the Renaissance on our recent visit to Long Beach and had a fantastic weekend. The rooms were nice and the views spectacular, and it was great to be in walking distance to so many restaurants and attractions.

Rooms at the Renaissance Hotel Long Beach
Hotel rooms at the Renaissance Long Beach feature one king or two double beds. There are also suites available, as well as Club level rooms. All rooms have a coffee make and flat-screen TV. Request an upper floor for better views of the harbor!
If there is one negative about staying at this hotel with kids, it is the double beds. Two queen beds would be much more ideal. When you are traveling as a family, bigger is always better when it comes to beds. The best solution is for parents to split up and each share the bed with a kid. Otherwise, two grown adults sharing one double bed can be a very tight squeeze!
On a positive note, the bathrooms at the Renaissance Long Beach are huge. There is a long, marble counter and plenty of space to move around.
