With literally hundreds of hotels located in Anaheim and the surrounding area, transportation to Disneyland has always been a major factor in planning a Disney vacation.
So it was quite a shock when the Anaheim Transportation Network announced earlier this year that their Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) shuttle bus system – a network of busses serving 19 routes and providing rides to more than 8 million passengers annually – would be shutting down on March 31, 2026.
Disney was quick to announce that transportation from the Toy Story parking area to the Disneyland Resort (currently provided by ART) would not be disrupted.
This week, an announcement was made regarding a replacement for shuttles from area hotels – but only some.
New Disneyland Shuttle Service from Hotels Announced
Many people are surprised that the new service was announced not by Disney or the City of Anaheim, but by the neighboring City of Garden Grove.
The Garden Grove Tourism Improvement District (GGTID), working alongside the city, announced plans to launch a brand-new shuttle service connecting several local hotels with the Disneyland Resort transit hub.
According to a press release, a new transportation service will begin operating between 10 hotels in Garden Grove and the Disneyland Resort. Service begins the last week of March, days before the ART system is scheduled to cease operations.
Here is everything we know to date, as announced in an official press release from the City of Garden Grove.
City of Garden Grove and Garden Grove Tourism Improvement District to Launch Disneyland Resort Shuttle Service
The City of Garden Grove and the Garden Grove Tourism Improvement District (GGTID) will launch a new shuttle service ensuring continued connection from Garden Grove hotels to the Disneyland Resort. Shuttle service will begin the last week of March and will cost a small fee per guest from participating hotels.
“Garden Grove is proud to welcome visitors from across the region and around the world,” said Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein. “This new shuttle service keeps our hotels connected to the Disneyland Resort while inviting visitors to explore everything Garden Grove has to offer.”
Designed to support 10 local hotels and their guests, the service will maintain reliable transportation between Garden Grove accommodations and the Disneyland Resort area, connecting visitors to nearby entertainment, dining, shopping and regional transportation options.
“We are thrilled to have this new arrangement with Parking Company of America as it presents a great improvement for our guests to access the Disneyland Resort area easily and efficiently,” said GGTID President Dieter Hissin.
Three routes will be served between participating Garden Grove hotels and the Disneyland Resort, helping speed travel times and making it easier for visitors to move between their accommodations and nearby attractions without needing a personal vehicle. The shuttle system will serve the following Garden Grove hotels:
- Sheraton Garden Grove – Anaheim South
- Hyatt Regency Orange County
- Embassy Suites by Hilton Anaheim South
- Delta Hotels by Marriott Anaheim Garden Grove
- Anaheim Marriott Suites
- Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim/Garden Grove
- Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim-Main Gate Area
- Residence Inn Anaheim Resort Area/Garden Grove
- Great Wolf Lodge Southern California
- Hampton Inn & Suites Anaheim/Garden Grove
Shuttles will operate throughout the day with frequent service, providing hotel guests with easy access to the Disneyland Resort transit hub.
On Thursday, March 12, 2026, the GGTID Board approved modifications to the activities for Fiscal Year 2025-26 to include transit services as a new activity. Funded through assessments paid by local hotels, GGTID supports programs that promote tourism and enhance the visitor experience in Garden Grove. More Options for Getting to Disneyland
Garden Grove borders Anaheim, just about a mile south of The Disneyland Resort. So while the new service is good news if you are planning to stay at one of the hotels in that area, it begs the question about how hotels in Anaheim will handle the change.
No doubt, a plan will be announced soon.
In the meantime, regardless of shuttle transportation options, I always advocate for the most convenient option which is staying at one of the hotels walking distance to Disneyland.

Hotels in Anaheim with Private Shuttles
There are a number of hotels near Disneyland that have their own shuttles, and this is going to be more important as so much is in flux with the shuttle situation. Here are the hotels you can count on to provide their own transportation.
Days Inn and Suites Anaheim at Disneyland Park
Located about a mile away from the parks, Days Inn Anaheim falls into the budget hotel category, but as one of just a few hotels with free shuttle to Disneyland it is a great option if you are traveling on a budget!
In addition to free shuttle service, Days Inn offers free parking and free breakfast. It is a fairly basic motel with a pool in the parking lot and not too much else as far as recreation, but it is a winner if you are looking for a clean place to sleep and lots of freebies to stretch your vacation dollars.
The Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel
Named for the hotel’s expansive gardens, the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel features a fun castle-themed design and free shuttle to Disneyland aboard their Dream Machine shuttle bus.
This family-friendly hotel features spacious rooms and suites, even some with bunk beds. It has a heated outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, and lots of family-friendly activities.
Candy Cane Inn
The Candy Cane Inn is a moderately priced hotel located less than a half mile from the parks. Although it is one of the closest hotels to the Disney parks, transportation is included with your stay. In addition to its complimentary shuttle service, Candy Cane Inn offers free breakfast and free parking, too!
One of the unique things about this hotel is it is family owned and not part of a huge chain. So if you are looking for a hotel with free shuttle to Disneyland along with friendly service and a unique vibe you won’t find anywhere else, Candy Cane Inn might be the perfect place for you!
Hyatt Regency Orange County
The Hyatt Regency Orange Countyis a deluxe hotel with two pools, beautiful rooms, a soaring lobby, and upscale Italian restaurant onsite.
One of the highlights of this hotel is its private shuttle that provides direct service to the parks. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes and costs $7 per person per day. Kids 3 & under are complimentary.

Final Thoughts: Shuttle Service to Disneyland
Although the unfortunate end of Anaheim Resort Transportation shuttles have no doubt shaken things up, transportation is an important part of the Disneyland Resort vacation experience and it is too valuable for Disney not to find a replacement to keep guests coming to the parks.
