Healthy Food at Disneyland & Disney California Adventure

Last updated on October 24, 2026

Wondering where to find the best healthy food at the Disneyland Resort?

Disney food is nothing short of amazing, and the good news is many restaurants at the Disneyland Resort are now offering more fresh and healthy options!

As frequent visitors to Disneyland, salads are our go-to meal when we visit the parks. The great thing about salads is they are so versatile. I have found that Disneyland cast members are super helpful when it comes to vegan options and honoring special requests, making it super easy to eat healthy. You can very easily hold the cheese, add chicken for extra protein, or ask for dressing on the side if you’re looking for even healthier options.

Healthy Food at Disneyland

In addition to salads, there are plenty of other options for healthy food and Disneyland and Disney California Adventure – from snacks to full meals.

Keep in mind, menus change frequently at the Disneyland Resort, so even if these exact meals are not available, the restaurant will likely have something similar in its place.

Healthy Food & Salads at Disneyland Park

Here are the best spots to find snacks and healthy meals inside Disneyland Park.

1. Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Disneyland Star Wars Millennium Falcon
The Millennium Falcon at Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

With Oga’s Cantina and Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has some of the best themed restaurants in all of the Disneyland Resort.

Docking Bay 7 has a great salad you should try if you are looking for something unique and tasty – just don’t let the name deter you! This counter service restaurant menu features the Surabat Valley Greens with Roasted Tip-Yip. Ingredients in this healthy Disneyland salad include marinated chicken, mixed greens, a quinoa-veggie mix, peppers, olives, cotija cheese, and cilantro dressing.

I tried this for the first time on a recent visit to Disneyland. It was very flavorful, and would definitely order it again! The mix of greens were unique and the quinoa and tiny peppers and olives gave it a interesting texture.

The restaurant also has a plant-based meal Felucian Kefta Garden Spread, which is comprised of Impossible™ meatballs, herb hummus, and tomato-cucumber relish on a pita.

2. Jolly Holiday Bakery Café – Main Street USA

The Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is home to delicious bakery treats, and they have many healthy options, too.

The Jolly Chopped Salad is one of the most popular menu items, comprised of mixed greens, chopped deli meats, Italian relish, garbanzos, olives, and a creamy Italian vinaigrette dressing. It is served with a breadstick.

Another fairly healthy option is the Turkey on Ciabatta sandwich. It is very hearty, filled with turkey, tomato, lettuce. and honey-mustard served with house-made chips.

3. Bengal Barbecue – Adventureland

Disneyland healthy food - Bengal Beef Skewer
Bengal Beef Skewer.

Bengal Barbecue is a long-time staple in Adventureland, a quick-service stand featuring spicy or sweet beef, chicken, bacon-wrapped asparagus, or fresh vegetables. Typically more of a snack than a meal, you can grab a skewer between meals or if you just want a burst of protein. My favorite is the Bengal Beef Skewer in a sweet sauce; they also have a spicy version.

New to the offerings at Bengal Barbecue is the Bengal Rice Plate. This dish gives you a choice of two skewers served on a bed of Jasmine rice with a side of slaw.

If you are going to get something from Bengal Barbecue, I highly recommend using Mobile Ordering on the Disneyland app. The lines can get very long if you don’t order in advance! Whenever we order Bengal Barbeque, I can just walk right up to the window and grab our skewers while others are waiting in the walk-up line for 30 minutes or more. Mobile Ordering in general is a great time saver!

4. Cafe Daisy – Mickey’s Toontown

Grab some whole fruit in Mickey’s Toontown.

Cafe Daisy in Toon Town has the plant-base Caesar Salad Garden Wrap – one of the best healthy options at Disneyland. The wrap includes romaine and kale salad with sun-dried tomato-bean spread, pepitas, and creamy Caesar dressing,

This quick-service restaurant is located right outside of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, so it sometimes gets a little congested.

In addition, you can also pick up fresh fruit and other healthy snacks at the stand right next to Cafe Daisy.

5. Plaza Inn – Main Street U.S.A

Disneyland salmon
Citrus herb-crusted Salmon at the Plaza Inn.

Plaza Inn is considered a quick service restaurant, but I see it as borderline table service. This is because food is hearty and served on real plates, drinks in real glasses, and the seating area is prime. The only thing that makes it quick service is because you order it at the counter and pay for your tray before sitting down to eat. But otherwise – the quality is right up there with some of the best table service restaurants at Disneyland!

► Travel Insight

If you’re planning on watching the parade at Disneyland, order dinner at the Plaza Inn and grab a table outside 20-30 minutes before the parade comes down Main Street. You’ll have a comfy seat, great view, and a beverage to sip while you watch!

Plaza Inn offers lots of healthy food options, including a salmon entree with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Their Cobb Salad comes with seared chicken, romaine lettuce, bacon, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, and blue cheese dressing. I love that they toss the salad right in front of you so you can customize it.

I had the citrus herb-crusted salmon on our most recent visit to Disneyland and it was really good! One word of warning though. Ask them to put the basil cream sauce on the side. The sauce is delicious and nice to dip the fish and vegetables into it, but you don’t want your food to swim in it!

6. Alien Pizza Planet – Tomorrowland

Alien Pizza Planet restaurant at Disneyland

They may be best known for their pizza and pasta dishes, but Alien Pizza Planet has some of the best salads at Disneyland!

A popular pick is the Centurion Chicken Caesar Salad, which is your standard Caesar. They also have a Satellite Salad, which is a side salad with mixed greens, tomatoes, and carrots served with your choice of dressing – a good deal for just around six bucks!

If you just want something small or a side salad to go with your pizza, order the Satellite Salad. It is a decent-sized side salad with mixed greens, tomatoes, and carrots served with your choice of dressing – a good deal for just under six bucks!

One of the reasons I love going to Alien Pizza Planet is that it is one of the only quick-service restaurants that still let you get free refills on your drink. You can also fill up your water bottles here before taking off into the park.

7. Galactic Grill – Tomorrowland

Galactic Grill Chopped Salad Disneyland
The Chopped Salad at Galactic Grill is simple and tasty.

Galactic Grill has literally been around forever; I remember going there as a kid. And while they still serve the old standard chicken fingers and burgers (although now they have fun space-themed names), these days there are many more healthy options.

One of those healthy options is the Grilled Chicken Chopped Salad. I had this salad again recently and really enjoyed it. It is simple, but tasty. The salad features grilled chicken, mixed lettuces, cucumber, tomato, onion, red pepper, and feta cheese served with roasted pepper ranch dressing. You can also get it without the chicken for a vegetarian option.

8. Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante – Frontierland

Rancho del Zocalo for healthy salads at Disneyland

In the mood for authentic Mexican food? Head over to Rancho del Zocalo. In addition to a big selection of burritos, bowls, and traditional Mexican plates, they serve made-to-order salads.

In addition to a big selection of burritos and traditional Mexican plates, they serve the Hacienda Salad, a mix of kale and romaine lettuces, cilantro avocado ranch, grilled mushrooms, salsa, and grilled chile-lime corn riblets.

Other healthy options include the Duo Tacos with either chicken or carne asada, and the Pollo Asado, which is a grilled half chicken with rice, beans, slaw, and flour tortillas.

9. Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree – Bayou Country

One of the newest restaurants at Disneyland, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree replaced the Hungry Bear Restaurant at Disneyland. Themed around the classic Country Bear Jamboree attraction, this quick service restaurant offers a huge spread of BBQ favorites like pork, brisket, and ribs.

I recently tried this place for the first time and had the Barbecue Salad. The salad is made with chopped beef brisket, romaine and kale, cucumber, carrots, corn rib, and vinaigrette. I found the meat a little fatty but overall it was good and the corn is a fun and unique touch.

10. Red Rose Taverne – Fantasyland

Red Rose Taverne at Disneyland.

Red Rose Taverne is one of the best restaurants at Disneyland if you have special dietary needs. Their extensive menu includes tons of allergy-friendly meals, including Gluten/Wheat, Egg, Milk, Peanut, Soy, Sesame, and Fish/Shellfish Allergy-Friendly options. They also have a Power Pack option on their Kids’ Disney Check Meals menu.

One of our favorite items at Red Rose Taverne is the Cottage Salad, featuring romaine hearts, hard-boiled eggs, bacon, marinated tomatoes, chicken, and cucumbers. It is served with green goddess ranch dressing.

Just a side note, they also have the usual array of burgers and flatbreads, so if not everyone in your group is looking for plant-based options, Red Rose Taverne is a great place to eat because you’ll find something for everyone!

11. Tiana’s Palace – New Orleans Square

Tiana's Palace at Disneyland
Tiana’s Palace is one of the newest restaurants at Disneyland.

One of the newest restaurants at Disneyland is Tiana’s Palace, which opened to great fanfare in 2023. Tiana’s Palace is themed after the Disney movie The Princess and the Frog and features authentic Cajun and Creole recipes.

For a healthy meal, order the 7 Greens Gumbo. It has white beans, okra, yams, sweet potatoes and rice.

Healthy Food at Disney California Adventure Park

There are many great restaurants at Disney California Adventure where you can find healthy food and salads. Here are a few of our faves.

12. Smokejumpers Grill – Grizzly Peak

Smokejumpers Grill at Disney California Adventure Park

Located in Grizzly Peak next to Soarin’, Smokejumpers Grill is a quick service restaurant with a fun, airplane theme. Inspired by the heroic men and women who fight wildfires in California, Smokejumpers Grill serves up American classics like burgers, chicken, and fries.

Your best bet for healthy food at Smokejumpers Grill is the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It is a chicken breast with smoked provolone, green chile, roasted garlic citrus aïoli, lettuce, and tomato. The sandwich is served with fries, but you can request a different side.

Smokejumpers Grill also has the Strawberry Summer Salad, with grilled chicken, baby arugula, spinach, strawberry-tahini vinaigrette, caramelized onions, feta cheese, and candied walnuts. This is definitely one of the more interesting and flavorful salads at Disneyland!

13. Aunt Cass Cafe – San Fransokyo Square

Aunt Cass Cafe DCA
Aunt Cass Cafe

In August 2023, Pacific Wharf officially transformed into San Fransokyo Square, a new area featuring sights, shops, and cuisine based on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Big Hero 6.” This reimagined area of Disney California Adventure Park is a fictional mash-up of two iconic cities – San Francisco and Tokyo.

With the transition, Pacific Wharf Cafe became Aunt Cass Cafe. It still houses the Boudin Bakery where fresh sourdough bread is baked on site. But now their menu has shifted a bit to feature American and Asian-inspired dishes.

The only salad currently offered here is the Chicken Ginger Sesame Tofu Salad. It has marinated tofu, romaine lettuce, and ginger-sesame dressing. Other healthy options include Chicken Tortilla Soup and the Turkey Pesto Sandwich with roasted turkey breast, pesto aïoli, havarti, bacon, arugula, and tomato.

14. Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta – Paradise Gardens Park

Wedge salad at DCA.

We almost never miss stopping in at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta near Pixar Pier when we’re spending a day at Disney California Adventure. That’s because they have a great selection of salads, pizza, and pasta. Sometimes my son and I will pick one of each and share!

Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta has two great salads. My favorite used to be the Boardwalk Field Greens, but sadly they took it off the menu. Salads offered are now a Side Caesar Salad (which is a great deal at under six bucks for a nicely sized fresh-tossed salad), and the Wedge Salad.

The Wedge Salad features a wedge of lettuce, bacon, tomato, blue cheese dressing, pickled onion, and crispy onions on top.

15. Flo’s V8 Café – Cars Land

Disneyland Cars Land Flos
Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure.

Reminiscent of the classic roadside diners that dotted the original Route 66, Flo’s V8 Cafe is a quick-service dining location open for lunch and dinner. It is one of my family’s favorite places to eat, not just in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure but at the entire Disneyland Resort!

Flo’s kitschy atmosphere and patio tables overlooking scenic Monument Valley and Radiator Springs Racers make this a memorable location to grab a meal.

Though Flo’s V8 Cafe specializes in classic comfort food (aka Flo’s Famous Fried Chicken and Ramone’s Low and Slow Club), they have a new salad called the Fillmore Groovy Greens with Chicken Fenders.

This salad features crispy chicken strips (the “fenders,” aka tenders), romaine, kale, bean and corn salad, cucumbers, tomatoes, quinoa, toasted sunflower seeds, and zesty dressing. You can also get the Fillmore Groovy Greens without chicken for a few bucks less. I tried this Disneyland salad and it was very filling, even without the additional protein!

16. Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill – San Fransokyo Square

San Fransokyo Square Disney California Adventure
Enjoy a meal at Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill in San Fransokyo Square.

Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill is another great spot located in San Fransokyo Square. We love eating here when the weather is nice, because they have the best outdoor seating area with nice views of the park.

Like most restaurants at the Disneyland Resort, Cocina Cucamonga changes their menu often, and they don’t currently have a salad. However, they do have street-style tacos and some other healthy choices so I wanted to include it on this list! I recommend the Carne Asada Street Tacos, citrus-marinated grilled steak tacos with crushed avocados and salsa. There is also Pollo Asado, with achiote-marinated grilled chicken tacos with crushed avocados and salsa.

Healthy Snacks

In addition to all the great restaurants throughout the parks, there are plenty of healthy options at Disneyland for snacks, too.

Healthy snacks can be found just about everywhere at the Happiest Place on Earth – from Dole Whips at The Tropical Hideaway to fresh fruit to those yummy grilled chicken breast or veggie skewers at Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland.

One of my favorite things to do is grab a cup of sliced apples and caramel. They are just the right mix of crisp and sweet to feel like a treat.

Enjoying sliced apples in Frontierland.

Here are a few ideas if you are looking to grab something fast and healthy.

  • Edelweiss Snacks – Chicken Niçoise Shaker Salad and turkey legs
  • Tropical Hideaway – Dole Whips and delicious baos
  • Fruit Stands – pickles, fresh whole fruit, pineapple spears, and more
  • Troubadour Tavern – The Troubadour Baked Potato
  • Fillmore’s Taste-In – Packaged nuts, raisins, fresh fruit, and veggie snacks

  2. Some great salad options – the BBQ chicken is my kinda salad. Good to know there are healthy food options in Disneyland.
