Best Hotels in Vegas for Families
What do we consider when choosing the best hotels for kids in Las Vegas?
My family has traveled to Vegas more times than I can count! Based on our experience, what makes a great hotel is an awesome pool, easy access to family-friendly restaurants and activities, well-appointed rooms, and an ambience that is not so posh that kids feel out of place.
And of course, the ability to get around the resort without always having to cross a smoky casino is a big plus, too!
1. MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

When it opened in 1993, the MGM Grand was the largest hotel in the world! Still massive in size and presence, the MGM Grand is one of the best family hotels in Las Vegas.
For starters, the resort features five swimming pools with waterfalls and a lazy river spanning more than six acres. In fact, MGM Grand is one of only three Vegas hotels with a lazy river, and that makes it super popular for family vacations.
The pool area needs to be large, because with 7,000 rooms in the hotel there’s big potential for a lot of people showing up there on a hot day! And indeed it can get crowded. But if you’re lucky to visit the pool on a not-so-busy day this oasis is sheer heaven.

The resort also has a great location near lots of kid-friendly attractions on the Las Vegas Strip, including M&Ms World, the rollercoaster at New York-New York Hotel & Casino, and it is the first stop on the Las Vegas Monorail line which will give you easy access to the entire Strip. It is also one of the closest resorts to McCarran International Airport.
Because of its massive size, the MGM Grand Hotel offers more than two-dozen restaurants and eateries.
Rooms at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino are fairly standard in size and amenities. But keep in mind because of the hotel’s size (again, 7,000 rooms!) in may take a few tries until you figure out how to best navigate the hotel’s elevators and hallways.

2. Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino

Located on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino is another great choice when considering the best family friendly hotels in Las Vegas.
Widely revered as one of the best pools in town, the Mandalay Bay pool is one of the resort’s main draws for families. More than just a pool, this 11-acre outdoor oasis is actually called Mandalay Bay Beach. It has a lazy river & wave pool for the kids, four swimming pools, and as its name implies a real beach, with over 2,000 tons of sand. You can rent tubes and float around the lazy river, or just enjoy lazing in the sun as palm trees sway all around you.
Aside from its great pools, another nice feature of the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino is its wide array of restaurants and family-friendly entertainment. The Mandalay Bay has 24 different restaurants and spots where you can even grab a drink with kids in tow.
One of our favorite places to go at the Mandalay Bay is House of Blues. Like the rest of the chain, they offer reasonably-priced food and live music from blues to Southern rock. If you go in the evening you can enjoy dinner or drinks and listen to great music, and no weird looks for bringing your kids along. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy Vegas with kids.

Finally, the Mandalay Bay Resort is home to Shark Reef Aquarium. Shark Reef has on display more than 2,000 species of aquatic life including sharks, fish, sea turtles, piranhas, jellyfish, and more. It is a beautiful aquarium and one of the really great things to do with kids in Las Vegas.

3. W Las Vegas

A step up from the Mandalay Bay is W Las Vegas, which is actually on the same property. Each of the hotels is located in a separate tower with separate check-in desks, but the pool, restaurants, casino, parking garage, etc. are all easily accessible by both.
What I love about this hotel is the rooms. It is an all-suite property, with a separate bedroom and living room, two TVs, and a wet bar. The bathrooms are huge and have a separate shower and tub, which is great for families. Everything is bright, white, and feels clean and classy.

However, the downside to staying at the W is that is you want to go to the pool, you’ll have a bit of a walk from the tower – including having to cross through the casino.

4. The Bellagio Hotel

With its world-famous dancing fountains on the lake out front, Chihuly glass sculpture in the lobby and ever-changing Conservatory gardens, the Bellagio Hotel is considered one of the best luxury hotels on the the Vegas Strip.
But all this classiness doesn’t make it stuffy or mean that the Bellagio isn’t a kid friendly Las Vegas hotel. While it is definitely one of the more elegant resorts in town, families are always welcome.
Rooms at the Bellagio are huge and comfortable, and they include lots of amenities. Bathrooms are delightfully spacious as well, with double sinks and a separate tub and shower.
There is an amazing pool area, and – despite being very upscale – the Bellagio Las Vegas pool is kid friendly.

Each season, the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio transforms with a stunning new design. A 14,000-square-foot floral showcase featuring the distinctive sights and colors of spring, summer, fall and winter—along with a special display every year for Chinese New Year. It is literally one of the most beautiful and popular spots in Las Vegas!
The Conservatory is also a wonderful spot for photos. It does get crowded though, so I recommend stopping by at non-peak hours! Plan to have brunch at Sadelle’s, as the restaurant overlooks the gardens and the food is amazing.

The spectacular Bellagio Fountain Show runs every half hour starting at 3 pm daily. If you can score a fountain view room all the better, as the music plays on your room’s TV and you can watch the synchronized water show from your window!

5. Resorts World Las Vegas

Opened in June 2021, Resorts World Las Vegas was the first entirely new hotel built on the Vegas Strip in over a decade. (The last brand new hotel to open was The Cosmopolitan in 2010.)
Combining three hotels in one—Hilton Las Vegas, Conrad Las Vegas, and Crockfords Las Vegas—Resorts World has over 3,500 rooms. It is huge. But its size means there is lots of room to wander, and lots of great restaurants, too.
But without a doubt, the best thing about staying here is the Resorts World Las Vegas pools!
With five pool “experiences” spanning across 5.5 acres, the pool deck at Resorts World is not only the largest in town, but also one of the nicest! Resorts World Las Vegas pools offer everything from a Family Pool to an adults-only Infinity Pool with great views of the Strip. The separate large pool and splash pad for kids makes resort perfect for family vacations in Vegas.
Overall, we loved our stay at Resorts World Las Vegas, especially our time at the pool. Whether you are traveling with kids or enjoying an adults-only getaway, this hotel is a gem. If you are looking for a fun, relaxing and somewhat indulgent pool experience on your Vegas vacation, you can’t go wrong at Resorts World Las Vegas.

6. Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Opened in December 2023, Fontainebleau Las Vegas is the newest luxury resort on the Las Vegas Strip—marking the return of the iconic Miami brand after decades of anticipation. With a sleek, modern design and an ultra-luxurious vibe, this towering blue glass property has brought fresh energy to the far north end of the Strip.
However, that said, its location off the beaten path is definitely a downside in my opinion.
Fontainebleau Las Vegas features over 3,600 rooms and suites, along with a massive spa, more than 30 restaurants and bars, and an upscale shopping district. While it leans heavily into high-end amenities, there’s still plenty to appeal to families, including spacious accommodations and family-friendly dining options.
The expansive pool deck is beautifully designed and includes multiple pools, shaded cabanas, and loungers. While Fontainebleau doesn’t have a designated kid-only splash area like some other resorts, the pool scene is calm, chic, and very welcoming to families during the day.
Overall, Fontainebleau Las Vegas is a stylish new resort that offers a high-end stay without sacrificing comfort for families. If you’re looking for a newer hotel with luxury touches and a family-friendly atmosphere, Fontainebleau is definitely worth considering for your Vegas vacation.

7. Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the Las Vegas Strip
Unlike most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, Hilton Grand Vacations Club offers a completely different kind of experience—one that’s ideal for families looking for a quieter, more relaxed stay.
Located just north of the Strip near the Sahara and within walking distance of Resorts World and the monorail, this resort-style property features spacious, apartment-style accommodations with full kitchens, living areas, and washer/dryers in many units. It’s not just a hotel—it’s more like having your own condo in Vegas, which makes it a huge plus for families who want extra space and flexibility.
The outdoor pool area is also family-friendly, with a large main pool, whirlpool spa, and plenty of lounge chairs. While it’s not a sprawling water complex like some resorts, the peaceful setting and easy access from your room make it a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing.

8. Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo

Not to be confused with the aforementioned Hilton Grand Vacations Club, Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo Las Vegas is another family-friendly Las Vegas resort a little closer to the center of the Strip. The Hilton Grand Suites are tucked behind the Flamingo Hotel.
Some people go to Vegas for the nonstop action, electrifying atmosphere and vibrant crowds. Other people love all that, but don’t necessarily want to be immersed in it 24/7. That’s where the Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo comes in. Close enough to the Vegas fun, but a world away when you want to unwind, relax, and enjoy some quiet time on your vacation.
This property has 316 suites, each complete with a full kitchen, sitting area, and over-sized whirlpool hot tub in the bathroom. Every suite also has its own washer and dryer, which is a huge plus if you are planning to visit for more than a few days.

I visited solo and had a whole one-bedroom suite to myself, actually making me wish my family was with me (that never happens in Vegas!) so we could take full advantage of the resort’s spacious rooms and amenities.
If you’re planning to visit Sin City on a family vacation, the Hilton Grand Vacation is one of the best kid friendly hotels in Las Vegas.

9. Vdara Hotel & Spa

The Vdara Hotel & Spa is an all-suites hotel with luxurious amenities, a killer location, and an upscale vibe. If you love the excitement of Las Vegas but prefer to stay in a non-gaming, smoke-free environment (aka families!) with large, comfortable rooms, Vdara is a great hotel to consider!
The Vdara doesn’t have a casino, but it does have a superb, central location in the middle of the Strip (right next to the Bellagio), making it easy to walk to neighboring casinos.
The Vdara’s best feature is the convenience of all rooms having fully equipped kitchens. When I stayed there recently, our suite had a living room area that was separated from the bedroom by a desk and television.
The kitchen had a small dining table with two chairs, a mini-fridge, a small cook top, a sink and a microwave. So while it wasn’t huge, it was ample for heating up leftovers and storing a few breakfast items to save money on eating out. And having a kitchen in your room makes it so much easier to eat healthy while traveling!

If there is one thing that the Vdara is lacking, it is dining options. The hotel has a bar and lounge with nice outside patio, a Starbucks, and the Vdara Market Cafe. But you’re never more than a short walk away from all the world-class restaurants, all-you-can-eat buffets and inexpensive food courts that neighboring hotels offer.

10. Marriott’s Grand Chateau

Marriott’s Grand Chateau is inconspicuously tucked just off the strip, but its convenient location is within easy walking distance of nearby hotels, restaurants, and casinos. A Marriott Vacation Club property, this family-friendly hotel offers spacious villas that are perfect for larger families or if you just want to spread out! Even standard guest rooms include a kitchenette.
Choose from traditional rooms or 1, 2, or 3-bedroom villas, making this a great choice if you are traveling with a larger family. All of the villas include full kitchens, separate living areas, sofa beds, and a washer and dryer. I stayed in a regular room on a recent stay, and it was plenty big, with floor to ceiling windows sporting fantastic views of the Vegas Strip!
A rooftop pool and the SkyBar 38 cocktail lounge both provide amazing views. Additional perks include a second (actually larger) pool, a modern fitness center and The Marketplace, where you can grab a snack on the go. Family-friendly onsite activities are scheduled throughout the day – including pool games, magic shows and crafts – which really sets this hotel apart from other Vegas resorts!

Marriott’s Grand Chateau is the perfect hotel for families seeking the comforts of home while visiting the most exciting city in the world!
One of the things I really love about this resort is there are no resort fees! Plus, if you are a Marriott Bonvoy member, you can earn or use points for your stay. You don’t need to be a Marriott Vacation Club member to book a room.

11. Circus Circus Hotel & Casino

At the far end of the Vegas Strip you’ll find the Circus Circus Hotel & Casino. I actually don’t typically recommend this hotel; it is an older property and the rooms are dated, the location is far off the beaten path, and quite frankly – its cleanliness can be questionable.
BUT, it just might be one of the best hotels in Las Vegas for families.
Simply put, Circus Circus has an indoor amusement park called Adventuredome. It features 25 rides and attractions including a double-loop roller coaster. There are also numerous carnival midway games and free kid-friendly entertainment.
Outside, Circus Circus has a pool with multiple water slides and a splash zone for younger kids.
One other thing Circus Circus has going for it is its incredibly low room rates. In fact, the rate is often cheaper than the hotel’s $42 resort fee. It is also the only hotel on the Strip that offers an RV Park.

12. Excalibur Hotel & Casino

Excalibur Hotel & Casino is a budget-friendly option, with a big pool, prime location on the Vegas Strip, and “Fun Dungeon” for kids.
Like Circus Circus, the Excalibur is one I recommend staying at only if you are traveling with kids. Let me explain why!
Before you even venture inside, the Excalibur Hotel calls to kids with its massive, brightly-colored castle theme and architecture. Inside, that Camelot-inspired whimsy continues; in fact, the Excalibur Hotel does one of the best jobs of maintaining its theme (even if some consider it a little cheesy!)
All this cheesiness/whimsy/castle-theming is only part of what makes the Excalibur kid-friendly. Everything about this hotel is built around fun, from the arcade (aka the “Fun Dungeon”) to the pools to the food court to the extremely family-friendly Tournament of Kings dinner show, complete with horses and jousting knights.
The Excalibur Hotel & Casino is also one of the most inexpensive hotels on the Strip, which is almost always a good thing when traveling with kids! It may not be the fanciest, but it is fun and laid back and you won’t feel like a jerk if your kids are being rambunctious in public.

- 3850 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas

13. New York-New York Hotel & Casino

Directly across from the Excalibur Hotel is the New York-New York Hotel & Casino, another fun, garishly designed building with faux skyscrapers and the Statue of Liberty soaring high from the corner.
Oh, and there’s a roller coaster zipping around the building.
As if the onsite roller coaster wasn’t enough to make this one of the best family friendly Vegas hotels for kids, the New York New York Hotel Casino has tons of other amenities including game rooms and a big pool area.
With the Empire State Building rising high and an exterior designed to look like New York City, this kid friendly Las Vegas hotel is just plain fun. There is the Big Apple Arcade, a food market representing different neighborhoods of Manhattan, and the Hershey’s Chocolate World store is a chocolate lover’s dream.

New York New York also has quite a few restaurants, including some inexpensive spots to grab a hot dog or slice of pizza.

14. Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa

Just a pinch off the beaten path is the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, one of the most beautiful, modern and family-friendly hotels in Las Vegas.
Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa is located about ten miles north of the Strip and just two miles away from the breathtaking Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area, one of the most beautiful spots in the Western United States. People flock to Red Rock Canyon for hiking, rock climbing and just to takes photos of this stunning landscape. The park also has a fantastic Visitors Center.
But enough about the Red Rock Canyon! Let’s talk about the hotel.
Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa is a sprawling resort with lots of family-friendly amenities, including more than three acres of outdoor space dedicated to pools and relaxation. The resort has a 16 screen movie theater and bowling alley, Cyber Quest arcade, and lots of family-friendly restaurants and eateries. And thanks to its suburban location, there are also lots of inexpensive and moderately-priced restaurants nearby, too.

Rooms at the Red Rock Resort are large and luxurious, decorated to reflect the natural beauty of Red Rock Canyon. There are a number of different room sizes to choose from, so you can book the space that works best for your family. Options include traditional rooms with a king or two queen beds, signature suites, and villas with a private pool and patio.

Last time we passed through Vegas ,I never stayed there as my kid was there with me ,thanks for sharing this..next time I will visit for sure
How sad, I haven’t stayed at any of these hotels, but I’ve visited a few of the casinos. While Vegas can be a little glitzy for my taste, but it can also be gorgeous!
I found you through Pinterest and decided to pin your site BECAUSE you were completely honest about Circus Circus. The place is a dump… but has been made better. It makes every list for families because of the AdventureDome. I think people forget that people bring their kids, but they really come for themselves. Kids attractions are mostly an afterthought. Vegas in the Early 2000’s took a shot at becoming more family oriented but that marketing push did not last long. The other problem is the location is actually pretty bad with relation to the rest of the Strip Hotels. Not quite as bad as the “STRAT” which seems like a silly name because everyone still calls it the Stratosphere. What I find interesting is how the Downtown Freemont area Hotels are usually completely ignored. But they are not really a great family destination so I can see the reasoning.
