Marriott Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance Review
We’ve stayed at many hotels near the Disneyland Resort over the years, and I can say without hesitation that the Marriott Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is one of our favorites! If you are considering booking a stay, I hope this review and info based on our personal experience is helpful!
As the name suggests, the Marriott Courtyard Theme Park Entrance is just steps away from both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park – 2,000 feet from the entrance, to be exact. You can very easily walk from the Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance to Disneyland, even with kids.
The hotel’s other main selling point? Its 20,000 square foot Surfside Waterpark, featuring water slides, pools, a children’s splash area and more.
The Courtyard by Marriott Theme Park Entrance is best for families, particularly those traveling with kids 12 and under. It is designed exclusively with families in mind, with family friendly amenities and services that make it feel more like a full-service Marriott than a Courtyard brand hotel. This hotel is widely considered one of the best Marriott hotels near Disneyland for families!
The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is fairly new; it opened in 2015. And it isn’t a refurbished property; the Anaheim Courtyard Marriott Theme Park Entrance was built from the ground up with modern amenities and families in mind!
We’ve had the opportunity to stay there a few times, and I have to say, this is definitely one of our favorite hotels in the Disneyland Resort area! We always aim to stay at Marriott brand properties; if you are a Marriott Bonvoy rewards member, you can earn or redeem points for your stay at this Courtyard Marriott near Disneyland.
Surfside Waterpark at Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance
Aside from its fabulous location, the hotel’s biggest draw for families is Surfside Waterpark.
Take advantage of the beautiful Southern California weather and spend some time at this exhilarating water playground on the hotel’s second level. The pool area at Courtyard Disneyland features four water slides, a 400-gallon drench bucket, water cannons, kids’ wading pool, hot tub and swimming pool.
Bonus – you can see the fireworks from the pool deck at night! And many rooms have views, too.
This water play area at the Courtyard Marriott Theme Park Entrance is great for younger kids, but my 11-year old got bored pretty quickly after going down the big slides a few times. Also, the swimming pool is fairly small, and on the hot summer day we were there it filled quickly with bobbing bodies.
On a more positive note though, the hot tub holds 15 people, so you’re not going to be squished!
Surfside Waterpark is open every night until 10 p.m.

The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance can be pricey, but that is largely because you are paying for the water park access and newness of the hotel. If you love the location but don’t care so much about the water park amenities, consider staying next door at the Fairfield Inn across the street from Disneyland.
Hotel Amenities
This Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance review would not be complete without talking about the hotel’s other great amenities!
This Courtyard Marriott Anaheim Hotel in Anaheim has a huge lobby, with rich dark wood floors that sprawl throughout the entire first floor and colorful, comfortable seating areas. The staff here was very friendly, greeting us every time we crossed the lobby on our way in or out.
There is also a library of Disney books as well as a business center and computers, and a fairly large gift shop.
An outdoor patio offers views of the park and a fire pit for evening lounging. You can grab a glass of wine at the bar inside and enjoy some downtime.
You’ll probably get your share of exercise just walking around the parks, but if you’re looking for more of a workout this Courtyard Marriott Disneyland hotel has you covered!
The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance features the 1,100 square foot Life Fitness Center with free weights and traditional cardio equipment including treadmills, elliptical machines and Flexstriders.
The Life Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Courtyard Marriott Disneyland Rooms
The Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is six stories high and features 202 guest rooms and 19 suites.
We stayed in a water park view room with great views of Surfside water park and Disneyland beyond. From our balcony we could see the Matterhorn and Space Mountain, and the Monorail zooming by every couple of minutes. It really added to our Disney experience having this exciting view! There are also resort view rooms.
The Courtyard Marriott Theme Park Entrance hotel’s extra large rooms are a spacious 530-550 square feet square feet. Options include a king or two queen beds, and – for families looking to spread out a little extra – one bedroom suites. All rooms comes with a set of twin bunk beds.
The beds were very comfortable during our stay at the Courtyard Marriott near Disneyland, and the bathroom was well-appointed. I loved that the bathrooms all have both a tub and separate stand-up shower, as well as two sinks. This makes it really convenient to get ready in the morning (or get ready for bed at night!) when you are traveling with kids.
The rooms have a host of other amenities, including Keurig coffee makers, microwaves, mini-fridges, Netflix, and a cozy table area. They are tastefully decorated with vibrant colors and Marriott’s signature bedding.
Dining Near The Courtyard Marriott Disneyland
The hotel’s onsite restaurant offers healthy choices, a variety of breakfast and dinner options, beer and wine, and specialty beverages made with Starbucks® coffee.
The Bistro is great for grabbing a bite in the morning, but there are lots of restaurants nearby more worthy of a visit. Try Pizza Press, Mimi’s, IHOP, or Panera, all within a stone’s throw. Mimi’s is actually so close it shares a parking lot with the hotel!
You’ll also walk right by a McDonald’s on the short walk to Disneyland from the Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance. This can come in handy if you need a quick cup of coffee in the morning, or inexpensive ice cream cone on the way back to the hotel at night!
Of course, there are also the myriad of fabulous dining options at the Anaheim Garden Walk and Downtown Disney, which is adjacent to the theme parks.
