The Temecula Valley is a little slice of heaven right in Southern California. While many people may overlook Temecula winery hotels for more famous regions like Napa and Sonoma Valley, Temecula is a true gem of a destination for wine lovers and families alike.
Temecula is located less than an hour away from our home and is one of our favorite spots to visit. I have spent lots of time there, both for the day and overnight in these fantastic Temecula winery hotels. Temecula Valley is a spectacular weekend getaway destination!
Visiting Temecula Wine Country
Imagine sitting on your private balcony, watching the sunset over a vineyard, and sipping a fantastic glass of wine. This scenario is yours for the taking when you stay at a Temecula winery hotel!
Nestled among rolling hills and scenic back roads, Temecula Valley is home to nearly 50 wineries and numerous charming hotels. It’s hard to believe this serene destination is located just an hour or so away from both San Diego and Los Angeles, and the stunning California coast, as well.
Temecula winery hotels provide the chance to experience everything this region has to offer. Enjoy wine tasting, tour the vineyards, play a round of golf, go hiking, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, visit a spa, or experience a taste of the Wild West at historic Old Town Temecula.

Located in the heart of Temecula wine country and surrounded by more than 300 acres of vineyards, Ponte is one of the best Temecula winery hotels with pool. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas on the pool deck, plus games and a nice-sized hot tub. The pool is big and backs right up to the vineyard!
Of all the winery hotels in Temecula, Ponte offers some of the best experiences. You can take a tour of the winery, sample their delicious wines, and sleep in a room overlooking the vines.
Ponte Vineyard Inn is a 90-room boutique hotel with elegant but modern interiors and luxurious amenities. All rooms and suites feature granite countertops, a mini fridge, plush linens and robes, signature bath amenities, and a patio or balcony with breathtaking views. (Seriously, you can almost touch the vineyard from your patio!)
Outside the hotel is equally beautiful. In addition to the vineyards, Ponte Vineyard Inn is flanked by gardens, a lake, and an expansive pool deck overlooking the vineyard and Palomar Mountains beyond.
There are four restaurants onsite including The Cellar Lounge, offering cocktails, craft beer, gourmet food and live entertainment. Ponte’s Tasting Room is a destination unto itself, with a beautiful shop, restaurant, stage for events, gardens, and lots of spots to sit and enjoy.

Located next door to Ponte Vineyard Inn, South Coast Winery Resort & Spa is another amazing winery hotel in Temecula.
South Coast Winery Resort & Spa sits on 38 acres of vineyards. The resort is comprised of a mix of private villas and a hotel tower filled with suites. Room amenities include fireplaces, extra deep tubs, wet bars, and private patios or balconies.
If you stay in a villa, your private patio literally extends into the vineyard. Another nice thing about the villas is you can park right next to your room, where if you stay in the tower you will have a bit of a walk plus the elevator ride.
South Coast is extremely family-friendly, and that includes pets as well as kids! Your dog will even receive a sWag Bag full of goodies at check-in. (There is a non-refundable cleaning fee charged.)
I have to admit that I found the tower’s lobby a little bland – not too different than your average chain hotel, which was a little disappointing. However, the service is exceptional and the grounds are absolutely lovely!
South Coast Winery is one of the only winery hotels in Temecula to offer a full-service spa. The GrapeSeed Spa offers a number of treatments in a luxurious setting. The hotel also has a restaurant, tasting room, and a really nice pool area.
The resort’s restaurant, The Vineyard Rose, serves dishes made from locally-grown ingredients. It is surrounded by vineyards, so you can take in the views while enjoying your meal.

There’s a reason Carter Estate Winery & Resort is one of the top rated Temecula winery hotels on TripAdvisor! This amazing resort is truly one of the best places to stay in Temecula wine country.
Situated on 112 acres, Carter Estate Winery & Resort is comprised of 60 private bungalows and suites. These beautifully decorated rooms feature deep soaking tubs, gas fireplaces, and private patios with views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards.
I’ll be perfectly honest and admit that I have not stayed at this resort. I have been to the winery, but I have not slept at Carter Estate Winery & Resort. And I have not seen the rooms in person. This is because the resort is located behind a gate and only guests can get in. You have to drive up a long, private road and check in at a Security bungalow to access the property.
I actually love this element of mystery, luxury and complete privacy.
Carter Estate Winery & Resort has a pool with food service. Breakfast is included with your stay, delivered right to your bungalow at your pre-selected time so you can enjoy it from the privacy of your room or patio.

And don’t worry, if you are visiting Temecula to experience its famous wine culture, there are plenty of wineries and tasting rooms nearby. In fact, you don’t even have to leave the property to experience some of the very best Temecula wines. They are served at Temecula Creek Inn’s farm to table restaurant, Cork | Fire Kitchen.
We’ve eaten at Cork | Fire Kitchen a number of times, even when not staying at the resort. It has a lovely, rustic atmosphere and nice views of the golf course. The food is locally sourced, fresh and tasty. While it is definitely on the elegant side, they do offer some more basic dishes including burgers, roasted chicken and unique salads. They even offer a kids menu and a great brunch menu, too.
Temecula Creek Inn is a fairly large hotel, with 125 rooms and suites, each with elegant furnishings, a private patio or balcony, golf course views and a 65-inch TV.

Pechanga Temecula resort rooms are equally luxurious. Comprised of two towers, Pechanga has 1,100 spacious guest rooms and suites with free Wi-Fi, energy efficient lighting and water fixtures and 24-hour room service. Rooms feature floor to ceiling windows with amazing views of the golf course, mountains, and the resort’s beautiful pool area.
