Another great day trip from Las Vegas you can take with teens is a visit to Hoover Dam – an iconic engineering marvel just outside Las Vegas.
Located about 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, Hoover Dam is one of the most impressive feats of engineering in the United States. You can walk across the top of the dam, take in sweeping views of the Colorado River and Black Canyon, and learn how this massive structure was built during the Great Depression.
The on-site visitor center and exhibits explain how the dam generates power and why it remains so important to the Southwest today. If you are visiting Vegas without a car, guided tours to Hoover Dam make this an easy and educational day trip.
Why Teens Love It: The sheer size of the dam is jaw-dropping, and standing hundreds of feet above the river feels adventurous. Teens interested in engineering, history, or photography will especially enjoy seeing a real-world structure they’ve learned about in school.

Similar to the Museum of Illusions but with its own twist on interactive exhibits. Expect immersive rooms that make no sense, angles that seem wrong, and plenty of “wow” moments for curious teens.
The Paradox Museum is located on the Strip near the MGM Grand. It is a bit hidden, as you will have to take an escalator up to the entrance, but there are plenty of signs outside and once you enter the building to help you find the way.

18. Virtual Reality & Arcades in Las Vegas

While they can’t play the slot machines, there are plenty of opportunities for teens to play games at the casinos. There are tons of spots where you’ll find both cutting-edge virtual reality experiences and classic arcade games.
Teens can step into fully immersive VR adventures at spots like Sandbox VR, Zero Latency, and VR Adventures, where they’ll battle zombies, explore space, or solve mysteries in simulated worlds. At the same time, they can enjoy a dose of retro fun at iconic arcades like Big Apple Arcade at New York-New York or the Fun Dungeon at Excalibur, which are packed with everything from racing games to air hockey.

19. The Adventuredome at Circus Circus

Looking for an adrenaline-packed day indoors? Adventuredome is a massive amusement park featuring roller coasters, laser tag, virtual reality experiences, and classic carnival games.
I don’t love the Circus Circus – it’s old and dirty and not in the best part of town. I would never recommend staying there (sorry, not sorry, there are many more Las Vegas hotels for families that provide a better experience), but for a fun day it’s a great place to go with teens. This five-acre indoor theme park is climate-controlled, so it’s perfect year-round, even in the summer heat. Teens can bounce between high-speed rides, games, and even rock climbing walls all in one place.
Why Teens Love It: It’s an all-in-one fun zone: high-speed coasters like the Canyon Blaster, 4D theater experiences, midway games, and bumper cars. It’s weatherproof fun and a great place to burn off energy.

Strap into the Big Shot, where you’ll be shot 160 feet in the air from a 921-foot high platform at 45 miles per hour.
Even just standing at the observation deck is an adventure. The sweeping 360-degree views make the Strip look like a toy city below. For fearless teens, the rides push the excitement factor to new heights.
The STRAT is also home to Atomic Golf, Las Vegas’ premier golf entertainment destination, combining next-generation golf technology, an engaging atmosphere, and immersive game play to create a fun, interactive, and energizing golf entertainment experience unlike any other.

21. Enjoy Pool Time

It goes without saying, but teens love hanging out at the pool. And luckily, part of what makes Las Vegas resorts so great is their amazing pool areas, including many hotels with lazy rivers. Teens will love floating, swimming, and hanging out at the pool, which can feel like its own resort vacation.
When you book your hotel, be sure to choose one with a great pool. We love the Mandalay Bay pool because it has a lazy river, wave pool, and sandy beach. If your kids love lazy rivers, Mandalay Bay Beach is definitely a great spot to spend time during the day.
Why Teens Love It: They can relax, socialize, and cool off. Some of our favorite Vegas hotel pools include:
- MGM Grand – large lazy river
- Mandalay Bay – wave pool, lazy river, and sandy beach area
- Tahiti Village – lazy river and sand-entry pool
- Bellagio Las Vegas – lots of different pools and room to spread out
Top Tips:
- Pool access typically requires your room key to enter.
- Bring plenty of sunscreen.
- Arrive early if you want to find lounge chairs to grab together.
- Bring your own water, food and drinks are available but expensive.
22. Family-Friendly Shows Teens Will Love

Some Las Vegas shows cater to all ages with thrilling acrobatics, magic, and comedy.
They get all the Vegas entertainment without the adults-only themes, so teens can enjoy world-class performances too.
Why Teens Love It: Blue Man Group’s music and comedy, Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatics, and Jabbawockeez’s dance performances all deliver big “wow” factor.
- Top Tips:
- Book tickets early for good seats.
- Avoid late-night shows which tend to be more adult-oriented.
- Check age guidelines before booking; most Cirque shows are suitable for 5+.
23. Sphere Las Vegas

The Sphere is one of Las Vegas’s newest and most talked-about venues—a massive globe-shaped concert arena with jaw-dropping visuals.
Tickets are pricey, but totally worth it! I saw the Eagles there and it was honestly the best concert I have ever been to; it will be tough to go to another theater after experiencing The Sphere. No matter what show you see, the Sphere’s 360-degree screens and immersive sound system make concerts and shows unforgettable for teens.
If you don’t want to see a concert (or there’s nothing playing while you are in town), consider buying tickets for The Sphere Experience – Postcard from Earth. The Sphere Experience is a unique blend of cutting-edge technology and immersive storytelling in a show that will let you fully experience this amazing venue.
Right now Sphere Las Vegas is showing the Wizard of Oz and although I haven’t seen it there yet, reviews rave that it is an amazing experience!
Why Teens Love It: The Sphere is an experience unlike any other concert venue in the world. The visuals are mind-blowing, and even teens who have seen dozens of shows will be wowed by the tech.
Top Tips:
- Check the Sphere’s schedule and book tickets well in advance.
- Arrive early to explore the stunning exterior (which lights up with digital art).
- No big bags, purses, or backpacks are allowed inside.
24. The Coca-Cola Store

Located on the Strip just north of the MGM Grand Hotel, the Coca-Cola Store celebrates all things Coke.
You can shop and check out all the fun soda-themed gear, but what teens will really love is their beverage bar – The Fountain – on the second floor. Order an Around the World Tray. You’ll get 14 different sparkling 4-ounce sodas from different countries around the world. They also have a variety of Coca-Cola mocktails and floats.
Why Teens Love It: Who knew there were so many variations of Coca-Cola?! Teens will love tasting unique varieties, or at least seeing all the options.
Top Tips:
- Share the sips for a fun family activity, and a bit of a cultural experience, too.
- Visit in the morning or on weekdays to avoid long lines at The Fountain.

25. Fremont Street Experience

Downtown Las Vegas comes alive with the Fremont Street Experience, a massive LED canopy, live music, and street performers.
Frankly, I don’t love Freemont Street for kids. I think it’s a little gritty and not really designed to be family-friendly. BUT – if you are looking for a uniquely Vegas experience and your teens love a good light show, come downtown to the Freemont Street Experience and check out the Viva Vision Light Show. Every night, the screen light up with dazzling displays synchronized to rocking music. The show lasts about six minutes and runs on the hour, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. It is located near the Golden Nugget Las Vegas.
If your teen likes ziplines, there is also the Slotzilla Zipline at the Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Vegas, or you can take a Guided Segway Tour of Downtown Las Vegas.

Why Teens Love It: The giant LED canopy feels like stepping into a video game, and the atmosphere is electric. Teens can people-watch, shop for quirky souvenirs, and enjoy free live entertainment. It’s Vegas energy, but in a family-friendly way.
Top Tips:
- Visit after dark when the canopy shows are at their brightest.
- SlotZilla zip line (which goes right under the canopy) is a fun add-on.
- Keep an eye on younger teens. While it’s family-friendly, the vibe is still very “Vegas.”
