Looking for the best healthy food at Epcot? You’ll find the most unique and delicious options inside World Showcase.
World Showcase at Epcot is an awe-inspiring place, highlighting the cuisine, culture, history, and architecture of 11 countries around the globe. We have been to Epcot at Walt Disney World more times than I can count, and I never get tired of walking around this area and trying new things.
Each pavilion at Epcot’s WorldShowcase is displayed along a mile-long promenade that circles a picturesque 40-acre lagoon.
And the food?
World Showcase definitely has the most unique restaurants and best snacks, and there are plenty of options for healthy food at Epcot!

The Best Healthy Food at Epcot World Showcase
I may be in the minority here, but Epcot is my favorite of all four theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort. There is always something new to see, explore, ride, and taste.
World Showcase is a fun and educational way to learn about the cultures and sample flavors from countries all around the globe. Because each pavilion has at least two table or quick-service locations, World Showcase is probably the most restaurant-packed area in all of Walt Disney World.
We thought it would be fun to round-up all the yummy options and highlight the best healthy food at Epcot! You can try them all in one delicious trip around the world.
The key to trying something from every country is sharing it with other people in your group. That way – a meal becomes a snack! If you share healthy meals or snacks at each pavilion, then a few bites of each will make for a truly unique and delightful experience. (And a great way to enjoy some family bonding time, too!)
World Showcase Pavilions
Mexico Pavilion
Letâs start by going left at the foot of World Showcase and work our way around clock-wise. Thereâs no reason you canât go right, but if you start by going left your first stop will be Mexico and adults can kick off this journey with a margarita at La Cantina de San Angel.
I am normally not a big fan of drinking with kids in tow, but a frosty cocktail at the get-go is a fun way to get this fiesta started.
While youâre in Mexico, grab a little something healthy to munch. La Cantina de San Angel has grilled chicken tacos (Tacos de Pollo), fresh guacamole, and the Arroz con Pollo bowl with marinated grilled chicken, corn, spicy tomato sauce, pickled onions, and cilantro. Hold the queso fresco which seems to come on almost every dish at this quick service restaurant and you have a healthy, tasty rice bowl. For a smaller bite (and to save room for the rest of your journey around World Showcase!) order the kids’ meal chicken tacos.
The Cantina has some nice outdoor seating overlooking the lagoon, so itâs a great spot to relax and sip those margaritas as you begin your journey.
Norway Pavilion
The Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe has some of the richest desserts in all of World Showcase. Many of their pastries feature fatty cream fillings and sugar on top, which obviously is not a healthy choice.
They used to have a vegetable torte or ham and apple sandwich which was a healthier choice and still gave you a taste of traditional Norwegian fare, but now they serve more traditional bakery items only. If you want to try a little something, order the Lefse flatbread and go easy on the cinnamon and sugar.
China Pavilion
If you are a tea drinker, you will love The Joy of Tea kiosk in China. Located right outside the main entrance of the China Pavilion, this spot offers an impressive selection of traditional hot and iced teas.
Inside the China pavilion, the Lotus Blossom CafĂ© offers a good but fairly generic selection of Chinese food. The Orange Chicken, made with white meat and served with steamed rice and carrot sticks, is a favorite and we always share a plate when we visit Epcot. Again, if you order the kids’ meal you’ll get a taste of their yummy Orange Chicken without overdoing it.
They also have stir-fried vegetables served with spicy noodles.
Germany Pavilion
The Germany pavilion at World Showcase is one of the liveliest and features one of the biggest selections of places to eat and best snacks at Epcot. However, you have to get a little creative to find healthy choices.
Sommerfest is a counter service spot serving bratwurst, soft pretzels and beer. Split something here and it’s not too bad.
Make sure you donât miss Karamell-KĂŒche, a delightful shop and the only working kitchen for Werthers in the world, selling fresh candy and caramel corn. We opted for a chocolate dipped caramel apple. They won’t slice it for you any more (they used to do it and it was so much easier!), but they’ll give you a plastic knife so you can dig in at your leisure share. The crisp, tart apple slices are an amazing (and healthy!) balance to the decadent chocolate.
Italy Pavilion
Iâll be honest: I am a sucker for Italian food. Carbs are my weakness and I could live on pasta if it wasnât so darn bad for you. So I was a little disappointed to learn that the only quick service option at the Italy pavilion is pizza. The slices are ok, but the pizza at the table service restaurants in Italy are way better!
We ended up having lunch at Via Napoli and shared a salad and small pizza. The pizza is made to order in their wood-fired ovens and was truly some of the best I’ve had – the perfect blend of zesty and crisp, and not too cheesy. A slice or two makes one of the most delicious and best snacks at Epcot!
They also have a very healthy prosciutto with melon and pasta fagioli soup.
If you decide to try this amazing Italian food, be sure to make a reservation. Like most table service restaurants at Walt Disney World and the Disney resorts, there is no guarantee you’ll get in without a reservation, and at best the wait for a table could be long.
If you just want a quick treat, Italy has the pretty Tutto Italia cart where you can get Italian fruit soda, gelato and sorbet. We shared a refreshing lemon sorbet and it was lovely to sit on the steps in the plaza and enjoy this refreshing treat in the sun.
The American Adventure
As expected for a quick service restaurant featuring popular American food, the Regal Eagle Smokehouse serves traditional fare â burgers, BBQ, macaroni and cheese, etc. We could have happily skipped eating here – because let’s face it, when you’re munching around the world American food is not very adventurous. But to stay in the spirit of trying something at every pavilion, we ventured in.
Regal Eagle Smokehouse actually offers some of the healthiest food at Epcot! Their menu includes a Power Greens Salad featuring mixed greens tossed with fresh citrus fruit, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, and radishes in a fresh citrus vinaigrette dressing topped with chilled pulled chicken. You can also get the Power Greens Salad without the chicken, for a nice vegetarian option.
The Power Greens Salad also comes as a Kids Meal, which is a great deal for under eight bucks and includes two sides.
Something else that helps make the Smokehouse a healthy choice is you can choose a big slice of watermelon for your side. This is perfect, especially when the weather is hot!
Japan Pavilion
Of all the table and quick-service restaurants, the Japan Pavilion probably has the most healthy food options at Epcot.
Katsura Grill in Japan is a picturesque counter service restaurant with lots of healthy options, including a variety of sushi, a California roll, miso soup, rice bowls, a grilled chicken salad, and edamame. I love their Chicken Teriyaki with steamed rice and fresh vegetables. (They have shrimp and beef teriyaki, too.) We shared this along with a hot bowl of miso soup.
The side salad â while it sounds like a mundane choice â actually comes with a delicious Japanese ginger dressing and is highly recommended. It makes a great healthy snack!
Morocco Pavilion
The Tangierine Café in the Morocco Pavilion at Epcot offers great options for those with adventurous palettes. The Vegetarian Platter is a great healthy option, featuring falafel, couscous salad, hummus, tabbouleh and marinated olives.
My husband loves hummus, so we tried the Hummus Trio, which includes traditional hummus, red-beet-and-black-garlic hummus, and avocado-herb hummus, served with Moroccan bread. Unlike him, I am not a huge fan and probably never would have ordered this on my own, but I have to say it was quite delicious and made a great healthy Epcot snack!
Spice Road Table is a Mediterranean-themed table-service restaurant in the Morocco Pavilion, with nice views of the World Showcase Lagoon. It is a great place to go for a healthy meal, as they have a variety of small dishes and lots of healthy options, and some vegetarian options, too! Some good choices include spiced chicken, spicy shrimp, Dolmas (grape leaves filled with rice and herbs, marinated olives, charred lemon), and the Tagine (seasonal vegetables, spiced chickpea stew and herbed couscous).
France Pavilion
Les Chefs de France, one of Epcot’s premier table service restaurants, has its fair share of decadent French dishes, but their are also some healthier picks. The ratatouille sur quinoa is served on quinoa with kale. You can also order the Blanquette de la mer – sautĂ©ed shrimp and scallops with spinach and potatoes – just ask them to hold the creamy lobster sauce or get it on the side for a light dip for flavor.
The Boulangerie Patisserie is the place to go for an amazing selection of croissants, eclairs, quiche, souffles, tarts, cheese plates and sandwiches. My family shared the cheese plate and a fresh baguette.
We happened to be here in the evening and it was the perfect time to grab a glass of French champagne to enjoy while watching the nighttime show over the lake.
The France Pavilion is also home to an artisan ice cream and sorbet shop called LâArtisan des Glaces. Thatâs where the kids went while we ordered our champagne. Sorbet makes a refreshing and fairly healthy snack.
Since the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot, there is a new quick service kiosk next to the ride entrance called CrĂȘpes Ă Emporter by La CrĂȘperie de Paris. They serve a variety or sweet and savory crepes along with other French treats and drinks. One of the healthier options is the Ratatouille Galette, which comes with tomatoes, zucchini, and eggplant. It is the only one of the savory crepes that does not have cheese inside.
United Kingdom Pavilion
The Yorkshire Country Fish Shop is a walk-up counter service restaurant that sells one thing â fish & chips.
While they donât have traditional snack foods or a lot of healthy options (no grilled chicken or fresh fruit here!), this quintessential British fare is a must if your goal is to taste something from every pavilion around World Showcase. But like any fried food, itâs loaded with fat, so just take a bite or two! And if you donât like breaded fish, you can order just a side of chips (aka fries).
The Rose & Crown is a slightly more upscale British pub, with fantastic seating overlooking the lagoon. While they do have traditional British dishes like bangers and mash, they also offer the Coronation Salad, and a kids meal with grilled chicken, brown rice and roasted carrots.
Canada Pavilion
The pavilion for Canada has only one restaurant and it is an upscale sit-down steakhouse called Le Cellier. I guess Canadian snacks are not in high demand, since there are no quick service restaurants other than a pop corn cart!
While Le Cellier Steakhouse is pricey, the food at this Disney restaurant is amazing! If you like steak, this is the place to go for a prime cut of beef, and the side dishes are downright decadent. However, there are some healthy options if you stick with the appetizers. Try the wedge salad, or jumbo chilled shrimp.

Restaurants at The Land Pavilion
Even though this guide is focused on World Showcase, no article about healthy food at Epcot would be complete without talking about the two restaurants inside The Land in the Future World section of Epcot.
Sunshine Seasons (quick service) and Garden Grill (table service) are two of the best restaurants for healthy dining at any of the Disney parks. They are brimming with salads, hummus, wraps, lean protein, oak-grilled salmon, fresh fruit cups, and more.
We dined there on our latest trip and I tried the Power Greens Salad with Chicken. This tangy salad has mixed greens, quinoa, berries, almonds, feta cheese, and balsamic vinegar. They also have a great Caesar Salad which you can get on its own, with chicken, or with shrimp.
Final Thoughts: Healthy Food at Epcot
There you have it â a look at some of the best healthy food at Epcot! And we’re not even mentioning the annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival or the International Flower & Garden Festival, when all the countries in World Showcase offer up additional cuisines to try, including many light and healthier choices.
So next time you visit this awesome Walt Disney World theme park, arrive with an empty stomach and an open mind. Youâll be able to eat healthy and still enjoy an international snacking adventure!
