If youâre traveling to Las Vegas, chances are you want to be right in the center of the action. But that doesnât necessarily mean you want to be surrounded by casino buzz 24/7. Thatâs where the Vdara Hotel & Spa comes in! Smack in the middle of the Vegas Strip, but set back just far enough to be a relaxing retreat. Add big rooms with kitchenettes to the mix and youâve got an ideal family-friendly Las Vegas retreat.
Vdara Hotel & Spa
The Vdara Hotel & Spa is an all-suite hotel with luxurious amenities, a killer location, and an upscale vibe for guests who love the excitement of Las Vegas but prefer to stay in a non-gaming, smoke-free environment (aka families!). If youâre headed to Vegas for a little R&R, this is a great hotel to consider!
Located right on the world-famous Vegas Strip, between the Bellagio and ARIA Resort & Casino, Vdara is just steps away from shopping, casinos and gourmet restaurants. A convenient free tram links the Bellagio, Vdara, ARIA, and Park MGM resorts.

Does Vdara Have a Casino?
Does Vdara have a casino? Nope.
The Vdara doesnât have a casino, but it does have a superb location in the middle of the Strip. If you wanted to gamble it is a very short walk to the Bellagio, Aria, and many other hotels along the Las Vegas Strip.

Family-Friendly Hotel in Las Vegas
As a non-smoking, non-gaming Las Vegas resort, Vdara is very family friendly!
However, it is a sophisticated property, so the term family-friendly is relative!
In addition to full kitchens in every room, there are several spots to grab a bite. Off the lobby there is a lounge with nice outside patio, a Starbucks, and the Vdara Market Cafe.
A full service spa offers the usual array of spa treatments in a very relaxing atmosphere. I am real big on spas when traveling along or with a girlfriend, so a quality spa is a must!
If you are a Hyatt rewards member, note that the Vdara â along with all other resorts MGM Resorts family of hotels â will allow you to use your Hyatt loyalty card to earn or redeem points.
Hotel Rooms
The Vdara is over 50 stories tall and offers studio, one and two-bedroom suites. Guest suites have open floor plans with big bathrooms and basic kitchen areas. I stayed in a studio suite, which had a king bed and separate living area. A large window on my 50th floor location offered supreme views of the Las Vegas Strip and Bellagio fountains.
Enjoy the convenience of a full kitchen in your room at the Vdara Hotel & Spa.The suite had a living room area that was separated from the bedroom by a desk and television.
The kitchen had a small dining table with two chairs, a mini-fridge with two bottles of water, a small cooktop, a sink and a microwave. So while it wasnât huge, it was ample for heating up leftovers and storing a few breakfast items to save money on eating out. And having a kitchen in your room makes it so much easier to eat healthy while traveling!
Be sure to request a room on an upper floor. Youâll be rewarded with an excellent view! If your windows face north, youâll have an incredible birds-eye view of the Bellagio Fountain Show. You canât hear the music, unfortunately, but the water show is spectacular with or without sound.
I visited solo and had a suite to myself, actually making me wish my family was with me (that never happens in Vegas!) so we could take full advantage of the resortâs spaciousness and amenities. When my son is with me, we like to make microwave popcorn and watch movies in the room, so the microwave oven is a great amenity!
Be sure to utilize the hotel’s mobile check in feature to save time when you arrive!
Dining at the Vdara
As mentioned, there are a few spots to grab a bite, but overall if there is one thing that the Vdara is lacking, it is dining options. But this is Vegas baby, so youâre never more than a short walk away from world-class restaurants, all-you-can-eat buffets and inexpensive food courts.
The resort is adjacent to the Bellagio, which has no shortage of dining options! The Bellagio offers everything from fancy restaurants overlooking the fountains, to snack bars and a buffet.
The Vdara features a rooftop pool. Snacks and cocktails are served at the poolside bar (open seasonally). While there is no buffet or exclusive restaurant onsite, the resort has the Market CafĂ© for casual dining and Vice Versa at Vdara serves coffee and cocktails. It also has a reasonably priced room service menu, though I didnât get a chance to try it!
And of course, you have a kitchen in your room. This is great for breakfast and snacks, keeping sodas and milk for your coffee. If youâre staying a while, itâs always nice not to have to eat out three meals a day. And at the very least itâs great to be able to stock the fridge with fresh fruit, cold water, and maybe a bottle of wine.
