Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip between Aria and the Bellagio, the Cosmopolitan remains one of the trendiest and most stylish resorts in Vegas. With its upscale vibe, incredible dining scene, lively nightlife, balcony rooms, and prime location, it continues to attract people looking for a modern Vegas experience.

The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Hotel is all about style and fun. There is of course an ample casino at the Cosmopolitan, as well as its fair share of bars and lounges. Separated from the casino on the floors above, you’ll find an array of chic shops and restaurants, including one of the best (and last remaining) buffets on the Vegas Strip – Wicked Spoon.

Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Review
From the moment you walk into the lobby, the Cosmopolitan feels different from many other Las Vegas resorts. The atmosphere is luxurious without feeling stuffy, sophisticated without taking itself too seriously.
Opened in 2010, the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas quickly became known for its bold personality and playful “Just the Right Amount of Wrong” branding. While Vegas has long moved away from its family-focused era, the Cosmopolitan fully embraces the adults-only energy of modern Las Vegas.
That said, families certainly do stay here – especially because of the central location and spacious suites – but overall this is not what most people would consider a family-friendly Vegas resort. The overall vibe leans heavily toward couples, nightlife seekers, and luxury travelers.
If you are visiting Las Vegas with younger children, resorts like Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Park MGM, or Excalibur Hotel & Casino may feel more family oriented.
For adults looking for a fun weekend away, however, the Cosmopolitan absolutely delivers!
Location & Design
One of the things I really love and that sets the Cosmopolitan apart from other Vegas hotels is its focus on art and design.
Throughout the property, you’ll find:
- Digital art installations
- Contemporary sculptures
- Rotating visual displays
- Eclectic design details
- Modern architectural elements
The artwork here appeals to multiple senses. Like the 6-foot tall red fiber glass sculpture of a stiletto high heeled shoe, or the three-story tall crystal chandelier. Or even the surprisingly fun black & white wall paper you’ll find inside the hotel room closets.
Even the parking garage features commissioned artwork – something few Vegas resorts can claim.
The resort feels intentionally curated from top to bottom, giving it a boutique-hotel feel despite its massive size.
Is the Cosmopolitan Family Friendly?
The answer really depends on your travel style.
Families absolutely can stay here, and the larger suites can work well if you are visiting Las Vegas with teens or multigenerational groups. The central Strip location is also convenient for sightseeing.
However, compared to many other Las Vegas resorts, the Cosmopolitan is much more adult oriented. The nightlife scene, pool parties, and overall branding cater primarily to adults.
If you are traveling with younger children and want kid-friendly pools, family entertainment, arcades, or super casual food courts, you may prefer one of these top family-friendly Las Vegas hotels.
For couples, girls trips, anniversary getaways, and adults-only weekends, however, the Cosmopolitan is one of the best resorts on the Strip.
Rooms at the Cosmopolitan
If a room with a view is important to you, the good news is that it’s hard to get a bad one. My advice is request a room overlooking the Bellagio. You will not only get a fantastic view of the Strip, but also the added bonus of getting to watch the Bellagio’s world-famous fountains.
Some suites come with balconies, a Vegas rarity. If this appeals to you, just know you’ll pay a premium price for this upgrade. Good deals can be found at the Cosmopolitan, but suites and balcony rooms will always cost a bit more.
If your budget allows, a Fountain View Terrace room is absolutely worth considering. Watching the Bellagio fountains from your own balcony is one of the best hotel room experiences in Las Vegas.
The rooms themselves feel sleek and residential, with modern decor, spacious bathrooms, deep soaking tubs, and and plenty of deluxe bathroom amenities.

Many suites also include separate living spaces and large bathrooms, making them ideal for girls trips or longer stays.
Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Pools
The Cosmopolitan features three very different pool experiences, so you can choose between a relaxing atmosphere or something a little more lively.
Boulevard Pool
The Boulevard Pool is the resort’s social hub. Overlooking the Strip, this multi-level pool deck offers fantastic views, upbeat music, large daybeds, and a lively atmosphere.
During football season, the pool often hosts game-day viewing events on a massive screen. In winter, the space transforms into the famous Ice Rink at the Cosmopolitan, one of the most unique seasonal attractions in Las Vegas.
The rink is relatively small, but this is truly a unique experience. Where else can you skate several stories up, with a stunning and expansive view of the Las Vegas Strip?
Along with the ice rink, there’s an outdoor Ski Lodge seasonal pop-up bar and lounge that’s open throughout the holiday season in Las Vegas.
Chelsea Pool
Formerly known as the Bamboo Pool, the Chelsea Pool is the quieter and more relaxing option.
Surrounded by greenery and a more secluded atmosphere, this pool is ideal for travelers wanting a calmer experience away from the party vibe.
Marquee Dayclub
The adults-only Marquee Dayclub delivers the classic Vegas pool party experience with DJs, cabanas, cocktails, and energetic crowds.
This is one of the Strip’s most popular dayclubs, especially during spring and summer weekends.
Restaurants at the Cosmopolitan
The Cosmopolitan has one of the most eclectic food scenes on the Las Vegas Strip. Some current standout dining options include:
Wicked Spoon
Still considered one of the best buffets in Las Vegas, Wicked Spoon is known for elevated buffet offerings and smaller plated portions rather than traditional steam trays.
Beauty & Essex
Beauty & Essex remains one of the resort’s hottest restaurants thanks to its hidden pawn-shop entrance, shareable plates, and trendy atmosphere.
Momofuku
Celebrity chef David Chang’s Momofuku Las Vegas serves ramen, buns, and Asian-inspired dishes in a lively setting.
Zuma
One of the newer additions, Zuma Las Vegas offers upscale Japanese dining and has quickly become one of the resort’s premier fine dining experiences.
Secret Pizza
Hidden down an unmarked hallway, Secret Pizza has developed a cult following for late-night slices.

- The Henry
- Block 16 Urban Food Hall
There are also of course plenty of bars and lounges throughout the resort, including the iconic three-story tall Chandelier Bar in the casino.
Location
One of the biggest selling points of the Cosmopolitan is its unbeatable location. The resort sits directly in the center of the Vegas Strip, within easy walking distance of major attractions including:
- Bellagio
- ARIA Resort & Casino
- Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino
- The Shops at Crystals
- Fountains of Bellagio
It is also connected to nearby resorts via pedestrian walkways, making it easy to explore without constantly needing rideshares or taxis.
You can also easily reach the free tram at either the Bellagio or Shops at Crystals, which will take you down to Park MGM and Eataly Las Vegas on the south side of the Vegas Strip. Across the street, you can access the Las Vegas Monorail at either the Flamingo or Paris station to take you across town. It makes getting around Las Vegas without a car very easy!

Final Thoughts on the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas
The Cosmopolitan continues to stand out as one of the coolest and most stylish hotels in Las Vegas.
Between the balcony rooms, incredible restaurant lineup, lively pools, modern design, and unbeatable location, it offers a distinctly different vibe than many traditional Vegas resorts.
It may not be the best choice for travelers seeking a quiet or especially family-focused stay, but for adults looking for an upscale and energetic Vegas getaway, the Cosmopolitan remains one of the top luxury resorts on the Strip.
If possible, splurge on a fountain-view terrace room. Watching the Bellagio fountains from your private balcony is one of those quintessential Las Vegas experiences you won’t soon forget.
